We’re now into September and the Fall release schedule. With so many games expected over the next three months, I wanted to share some of the games (and gaming-related stuff) I am most looking forward to.

The below list is only in release date order based on info I could find on Amazon and a few other gaming outlets.

Release dates are subject to change.

Gears 5

Releases on Sept 10

It’s been a few years since I played anything on the Gears Series. The last Gears game I completed was Gears 2. While I lost touch on the series, I am interested in seeing where the developers take the series with 5. Expectations are high and I’m hopeful this one is memorable

SEGA Genesis Mini

Releases on September 19

Not quite a game but this is another ‘mini console’ I will be adding to my collection. When I was a tween, the Genesis and the Super Nintendo were consoles I wanted but could never own. Now that I can, I can’t wait to sit down and spend sometime with the 40+ available games.

The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening

Releases on September 20

Link’s Awakening was one of the first Game Boy games I ever played and still one of my favourites. When this was announced, there was no question that it would also be a must-own. I am still a bit uncertain on the art style but knowing Nintendo, it will win me over.

Pokémon Sword & Shield

Releases on November 15

I played and enjoyed Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu but I really want a new pocket monster adventure. With most of my gaming happening on the Switch, I can see this being in my console for a long time.

Death Stranding

Releases on Nov 8

Metal Gear Solid is still my favourite game and I try to play just about anything Hideo Kojima makes or has some involvement with. I still don’t know too much about this one and I think that’s for the best because I think everything we think this game, is probably wrong.

Good or bad, this one is a game people will probably talk about for a long time and I want to be able to keep up with everyone else.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

Releases on Nov 15

There hasn’t been much talk about Fallen Order since June, so this one might not actually release this year. I was skeptical from the footage we saw back then but this is another one that I’m hopeful for. Titanfall 2 was a game that was so much better than people gave it credit for and I can see the same for this one.

Considering the year EA is having, they need a win and this is the one they are banking on.

Shenmue III

Releases on Nov 19

I still need to play and finish Shenmue II, so this one is here only if I can do that before this one launches. I’ve tried to stay dark on this as much as I can but the questions people are raising does concern me. But, even if it’s a disaster, I think it’s one of those disasters you need to see first-hand.
